When Lies Become Truth

"When lies become truth” is a depiction (in Swedish) of the events following the exposure of the surgeon Paolo Macchiarini's research fraud in 2016 at Karolinska Institutet. Several years earlier, Harriet Wallberg had ended her term as Vice Chancellor of Karolinska Institutet. Nevertheless, in the investigation commissioned by Karolinska Institutet she was held responsible for the events coupled to Macchiarini and his surgeries. The book is a journalistic excavation, which reveals serious deficiencies, lies, and errors in the investigation of the case.

The book is written in Swedish together with Kristina Appelqvist, who is an author, journalist, and communicator with many years’ experiences from the academic world.
